Paragraph 1: Whether it be somewhere that is nice to relax and recollect yourself, or a place that you can gather and have fun with other people, the idea of place should be intimate to a person. While many things can define place for an individual, it is important to realize more so what it can do for a person rather than what it actually is. In my three activities that described place of some sort, what I emphasized was that there can be really different thing that impacts a persons life that can be classified as place. My virtual world was playing games because it is one of my most valued hobbies. But on the other hand when I was documenting my daily life, the things that I experienced like my room, my family, and my pet are also thing that I greatly value and completes that sense of place in my life.

Paragraph 2: An artist that created works that impacted this idea of place to people not only during his time but even in the present is Leonardo da Vinci. Only three of his most famous works have enough repertoire and substance to fuel a lot of discussion and purpose. For example, his visualization of The Last Supper to many people is very meaningful and hold a deep place within their hearts. Many Christians and even non Christians alike can recognize this image, but it remains to the viewer what it can mean to them as you can assume between these two different group of peoples. Pablo Picasso was also another artist who documented place among himself. Some of his most famous paintings were of himself-but not in the traditional way that you would think of hit. His work really spoke abstract like no other, and it would really be the way into his mind and how he saw the world. The evolution of his portraits specifically show place in that he may have seem himself as more and more chaotic over the years, and that can be interpreted as just the human story. A person that I very much admire is Jordan Peterson, a Canadian clinical psychologist who is very much a person who is actively trying to bring purpose into people’s lives. Relating this to place, I think that place can be translated or at least related to giving a person purpose and really getting them out of the toxic cycle that our society can provoke. He lectures about the importance of responsibility in a person’s life, and how that responsibility in our society has been drowned out by the raging debate of protecting people’s rights. His ideas are important because it manifests a connection between people’s longing for purpose in their lives with their actions and goals.

Paragraph 3: In terms of what someone would call a white collar job, sitting at a desk at home all day isn’t so much different than that. As our use of technology increases, our need to go out and physically do things without sitting at a desk all day will decrease and that’s just one of the mere consequences of technology. So given that, I believe that the desk or even someone’s room with their laptop can give them a great form of place. It may certainly seem like a terrible thing to do all day, but it can also be the best thing that you can do all day-given that your interests can be fueled by technology. Considering the rate of spread of COVID-19, the idea that we will go back to normal will never exist again until we can completely eradicate the virus. It will definitely become much like the flu where it becomes a yearly problem to deal with, and that being optimistic. if not already, we will have to adapt to staying indoors more and more and isolating ourselves from big crowds, and public open areas. It seems like in today’s information age, we are suffering from much different problems than that of the baby boomer age and the scale is wholly dependent on the perspective of the person.

Paragraph 4: 2021 is going to be an even more interesting year to say the least. It could be a great relief for everyone in the world, but could also be a very big upset, and this continuous cycle of monotony and isolation will continue on indefinitely. I think specifically in the US, given that we were to get a vaccine within the next few years, that things would normalize but there would be more caution and more hostility generally around other people. I believe that the corona virus situation has definitely to an extent, made people a bit more irritable and that can be seen in today’s politics and common sense in general. In 2050, if we can even make it to that point (haha) will be similar to life today. We may have made a lot more technological advances, but I think that due to the corona virus inhibiting people to gather and collaborate, that these advances would not compare to the advances we have now compared to 30 years ago. Ideally, I would like to live locally and be able to travel in the future, in order to just experience the world as much as I can before I get older.
