Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman is a government contractor company who makes space machines as well as military devices that the government uses. They also do a lot of work in space that have to do with exploration such as the James Webb Telescope, which is supposed to be the next huge leap in space technology that will allow them to learn more about our solar system as well as the galaxy. They mostly do the dirty work that allows such fantastic technology to exist in space, and they do much of the technical behind the scenes as well.

I think that I as a student could offer a fresh mind to their company. As technology is constantly changing, it is important for engineers and engineering companies to keep up with the new and latest technology and techniques. I believe that me being the sort of “next generation” in the field, that I would be a great asset to the company.

Raytheon Technologies

The company is one of the largest aerospace and defense manufacturers in the world by revenue and market capitalization. It researches, develops, and manufactures advanced technology products in the aerospace and defense industry, including aircraft engines, avionics, aero structures, cybersecurity, missiles, air defense systems, and drones. The company is also a large military contractor, getting a significant portion of its revenue from the U.S. government.

Being that Raytheon is very similar to Northrop Grumman, I think that I would offer certain skills that relate to electrical engineering as well as computer engineering that would have the same benefits as stated in the Northrop Grumman paragraph.

Medtronic

Medtronic is a company which is very different to Raytheon and Northrop Grumman. Medtronic focuses on medical technologies as well as medical equipment. They were actually first established as a medical equipment repair shop, and now they focus on developing the latest technology that allows so many medical facilities and clinics to help people all over the world.

I believe that I would be able to offer a different approach to engineering in this company, and would really be an advocate for advancing technology to help more people around the world.

Kathy Warden

Kathy Warden is the president of Northrop Grumman and I chose her because I found it very interesting to figure out and learn what a president of such a broad company does in their daily lives. Prior to becoming CEO and president, Warden served as president and chief operating officer, responsible for the operational management of the company’s four sectors as well as its enterprise services organization. Her role encompassed all aspects of the company’s operations, including leading engagement with the senior customer community and partners around the globe. She also led the integration of Northrop Grumman’s Innovation Systems sector. Previously, she served as corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems and Information Systems sectors.

Blake Larson

Blake Larson is the president of the Space Systems sector in Northrop Grumman, which is a field that I am specifically interested in within the company. He oversees the the strategy, capture, design, build and delivery of civil and defense related space systems to customers around the world both as a prime contractor and as a supplier.

Roy Azevedo

Roy Azevedo is president of Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a business of Raytheon Technologies. He leads a business of 35,700 employees and is responsible for a broad portfolio, including advanced sensors, training, and cyber and software solutions. Azevedo has more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in aerospace and defense. Most recently, he served as president of Raytheon Company’s Space and Airborne Systems business prior to Raytheon Company’s merger with United Technologies Corporation in 2020. Prior to that, Azevedo was vice president and general manager of Raytheon’s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems mission area. He has also been vice president and general manager of the Secure Sensor Solutions mission area.

When creating a website, I think that it is important to sort of talk yourself up especially when you know an employer like such is looking at it. I would definitely put everything that I learned and that is relevant to which every company, as well as stating the things that I have accomplished or done or created in my early career as a student engineer. Engineering is really something that is very broad and relatively opportunistic given you have the resources to take advantage of those opportunities. I would also really emphasize a unique style in my website just to show professionalism and the extra effort that you are willing to put in as a person even into a website. There are a lot of certain things in creating a website that can even display good thought process such as how the buttons work and how you are allowing the viewer to navigate through your website.
